Steven: [00:00:00] What's the most important lesson that I learned when working directly with Tony Robbins and his crew? What's the single thing that ended up keeping over 30,000 virtual attendees, active and engaged and energized and excited to learn and make change happen in their life, even while attending from their own home? Well, it's exactly the same thing that has made a difference for so many other people, and I know that it's made a big difference for me. So I'm excited to be able to share that with you, you're definitely going to stay tuned, because we're going to get into that and more in this episode.
INTRO: This is The Investor Mindset Podcasts and I'm Steven Pesavento. For as long as I can remember, I've been obsessed with understanding how we can think better, how we can be better, and how we can do better. And each episode, we explore lessons on motivation and mindset from the most successful real estate investors and entrepreneurs in the nation.
Steven: [00:01:00] Welcome back to The Investor Mindset Podcast. I'm your host, Stephen Pesavento. And each week, we share mindset tips and investing strategies to help you take your business and life to the next level. And today, we're going to be diving into a topic that is one that's near and dear to my heart, because it's made such a change for me, and I know it's impacted millions of people. And that's the idea of taking control and getting yourself in the right state. And why is that so important? Well, when you're going into a conversation with a business partner, or maybe you're going to have an important call with your wife, or husband, or you're going to be going and looking to do a negotiation directly with a seller or somebody across the table. Well, all these situations, you want to be bringing all of yourself in the right emotional state, in the right energetic state, and with all of you. And so when you think back on some of those situations, those experiences in your life where you showed up, and you had brought your all, and you were feeling good, and everything just flowed? Well, the amazing thing is that you can learn and train your body to be able to show up like that on demand whenever you want it. And I'm going to talk about exactly how to do that here in just a second. But if you can think back to those situations, what was it about yourself that was feeling good? Well, your mind was clear and like things just really flowed, it seems like you were in a happy state, maybe you were energized, maybe you were sitting in a certain way, maybe your facial expressions were in a certain way, all of those things can be cues to how you can go about recreating that feeling for yourself. So if we go into understanding how these different triggers can end up playing into creating an atmosphere within your body in your mind of just being alive and on fire and ready to go, it will set you up for all those conversations and all the important things that you want to do in your life.
Steven: [00:02:58] And so one of the first things, the most important thing to do when getting in the right state is movement. So we've talked a lot about this in other episodes and trainings, but the idea of going out and exercising daily, getting that blood flowing, getting that blood pumping, getting that oxygen working through your body, what it ends up doing is by staying physically fit and going out and moving, you end up changing your physiology. Tony calls it physiology first, so you focus first on moving, on getting your body energized and you can do that through going on around, you can do that through clapping your hands, or maybe it's a fist pump, or any kind of movement that's going to really get you excited. And if you think back to some of the times where you've been through the roof, and you're feeling super energized, maybe you're at a concert, maybe you're seeing one of your favorite speakers, and people are clapping and there's energy in the room, and you're jumping up and down and you're feeling good. Well all of those same triggers can end up being triggers for yourself in your normal everyday life. And so you can find some time to boost every 30 minutes, every 90 minutes by getting up and moving. And if you don't feel comfortable stepping out of your comfort zone and doing some of the somewhat goofy things that you might end up doing like being at a concert or live event in your own home. Well that's okay, maybe you're not going to be willing to bring as much energy to your life or day as possible, but the cool thing is that just by getting up and walking around, just by getting up and going outside and seeing something different or talking to somebody, it can end up changing your state.
Steven: [00:04:37] So the second thing is when you combine this second piece with the first piece you can end up bringing a lot of energy to the table. So when you can bring that energy of the music and you can bring that movement together, they can be really powerful to be able to trigger you to feel the way that you would feel when you're in one of those top states when you're feeling your best.
Steven [00:04:57] The other thing you can do; really lovely being reminded about this because it does make a big difference. It's the difference between sitting up straight, sitting up powerful in the right posture, the posture that you would feel when you're feeling your best, versus the difference of a posture, maybe the tonality of somebody who's not feeling so good, and just how they sit and how they feel. So having this reminder from Tony and all the people that have learned from him and applied it and shared it in their own way, it's so critical to get yourself in the right position because along with our final piece, having the right expressions, being able to put expressions on your face and in your body that feel, or that express the way that you would feel, if you were feeling in that top quality, high quality state, you'll notice the difference just by putting a smile on, if you're looking to feel angry, then put an angry face on and you can feel how those facial expressions end up actually translating into emotions in your body scientifically, they've proven through studies, that when you adjust your face, the facial expressions that you're having, or your posture, that can actually directly lead to the feelings inside as well as the chemicals that are being shot off, that are telling you, "hey, you should feel good, or you should maybe not feel so good." And so remember, "why is this so important?" because we want to be showing up in the best way possible. So what I learned through working with Tony Robbins, and his crew was just how important this is, every 30 to 60 minutes, they're getting us up and moving, they're getting us up and doing things that are silly, stepping out of our head stepping out of being serious and stepping into having a little fun and enjoying the moment, and it's so critical that we do this. So let me know down in the comments below or in my DMS on social, what has your experience been like when you attach movement with motivation, and therefore with momentum? So what experience have you had when you go and get yourself in that right state, and what kind of outcomes have that led to? I'd love to understand from you guys as well, on that front. So before I let you go, I just have to remind you that it's so critical that we get ourselves thinking and feeling in the right way so that we can show up and operate in our businesses in our lives the right way. This is just one small strategy that can end up making a big difference, so I encourage you, if you're listening right now, pause, go throw on some music that really gets you lit up, go jump up and down, go for a run, go do something silly that maybe gets you a little bit out of your comfort zone, laugh about it and let me know after how you feel. Thanks so much for listening and grateful to have all of you guys here and we'll see you guys next time.
