Welcome back to the Investor Mindset Podcast. My name is Steven Pesavento and each week, we share mindset tips, and real estate investing strategies that help you take your business and your passive investing portfolio to a whole nother level. And today is no different. We're diving in to a topic that is near and dear to my heart, it's about how do you go to the next level, when you're networking? When you're connecting? When you're out in the world? How do you figure out the best way to be able to attract people into your environment? And one of the best ways to do that one of the very, very best ways is to ask yourself and ask others, how can I be a value? What can I do to help you? What can I do to support you in your mission? What can I do to help you grow your business? Who could I introduce you to that would make an impact on your life or your world? Now? What happens when you ask this question?

Most importantly, it's about how you ask it. It's about the intent behind that question. If you ask it from a place of seeking, you're going to end up really turning people off. Because what people are going to think what people are going to feel is that seeking behavior, they're going to feel like oh, this person is trying to get something from me, this is not a genuine question. But when you genuinely ask when you genuinely look to serve others, before serving yourself, now that means you still take care of yourself, you still put yourself in the right position, the right place, you do the things that you need to do in order to move yourself in your business for that doesn't mean you're a doormat. But what it does mean is you're seeking to be a valued deliver to others, before asking for it. And what naturally happens is that that value will come. It doesn't necessarily come from the person that you delivered it to, though it sometimes can. But as a result of being someone of value, you end up attracting the right kind of people into your world. Now, here's a great example about how to do this, you end up going to a networking event, you end up going to an event. Now I don't even really like the word networking. Personally, I like the word connecting, I'm trying to build a real relationship with real people. Well, you'll notice when I'm at an event, and I'm there, I am there to have a deep meaningful real conversation, I want to know who you are, what you're about what you care about. I don't care about sports, I don't care about the weather, I don't care about small talk, I care about the individual, I care about you. And people feel that come through. And with that feeling, I might not talk to as many people but I go deep. And that depth is what builds a real relationship.

Now for you, you might be someone who feels more comfortable doing it a different way, figure out what aligns for you. But when you go into that conversation, when you go forward, to be able to go and serve and you go and ask that question, Hey, how can I help support your mission? You know, I'm hearing what you're working on? I'd love to know how I could be a value. And when you are sincere with it, and you let the question do the work. When you create space around the question, you don't fill in that space. When you let the person think to themselves, most people are not coming prepared with the idea of what would help them grow. That's another episode we'll talk about why that's important to do for yourself. But when you come with that view, that vision of being someone a value to be able to deliver on a regular basis, and you keep showing up like that you start creating a reputation as a giver. What happens as a result of that, everything you'd ever desire will be attracted into your world, the money, the people, the relationships, all of it. And it's as soon as you put down that belief, I don't have enough, I don't have enough money, I don't have enough skills. As soon as you put that down. All of a sudden, everything you'd ever want is right in front of you. And so when you can really show up from that place of giving, people want to receive, people might be afraid of receiving them. I feel like there's something that comes along with receiving, but if there's truly no expectation on your part that you're going to receive back. Let it flow in.
